It’s that one moment. Some say it only takes 3 seconds to make a connection with another person. It can happen at any time and literally anywhere. Somewhere there is some statistic about this sort of thing. What we like about these moments is how they can lift out spirit. It can make us feel a load of cool stuff that probably only compares to winning an Oscar.
Today, after another day at work and a quick snack with a friend I went to the station to go home. Whilst I was walking down the stairs I sang two lines from Florence+The Machine’s new song unaware that there were other people there. A guy that was in front of me stopped and looked at me and smiled. I felt truly silly for being caught singing. But he kept looking and smiling afterwards. And he was cute.
I never know how to react. I only know to regret not reacting. I came home thinking about that guy. And all of the things that I could’ve done. It’s weird when you think it only takes 3 seconds to capture someone’s attention. It only takes 3 seconds to change your life. Or remain the same.
